ASSOCIATION
MOTS POUR MAUX AU TRAVAIL
literally "Words
for harm at work"
"Mots
pour Maux au Travail" (literally "words for harm at
work") is an association which was started in Strasbourg,
France, in May 1997.
The large majority of
its members are medical doctors who practice in the work place
(the French regulation provides that any employeee consults such
a doctor at least once a year to detect professional injuries).
This association was initated by a group of these medical doctors
who were witnessing a noticeable increase in the occurence of
psychological violence and harassment in the work place.
Purpose
The purpose of the association
"Mots pour Maux au Travail" is :
- to offer a counselling
service to the victims of any type of psychic suffering at work
(such as psychological harassment or miscellaneous persecutions,
mobbing) where they can receive help, express themselves and
get information.
- to reflect on the present
body of laws and regulations and propose now ones when needed.
- help the different corporate
partners to analyse, understand and master the situation of violence
and psychological suffering in the work place.
- foster a multi-disciplinary
reflection, professional exchanges and promote new areas of research.
- train or participate
to the training of individuals, institutions or corporations
in this area.
- make contacts, promote
the association, and generally speaking, participate to all sorts
of reflections, and actions -- and which take into account social,
economic, legal or ethical problems related to psychological
harassment and suffering at work.
Our association is strictly
based on volunteer work ; it does not rely on any corporate or
other type of sponsor, and thus remains free for its orientation.
