Why did we create AFP?

We initiate this association, considering the fact that the image of the Philippines in France, and particularly the image from french television, is hardly consistent with reality. Our main objective is to promote the image of this country in France, by facilitating relations between these two peoples, caracterised by many unknown cultural riches. In the future, we want to enlarge the variety of our activities, to offer to our members various services, adapted to their wishes.

What are the activities and services proposed by AFP?

  • Meetings for our members ( dinners, shows, cultural excursions...)

  • Publication of our internal newspaper FPA NEWS ( news, discussions, advertisements, advices, life of the Association...)

  • Link with the representatives of the Filipino Community in France.

  • Administrative help and advice in integrating Filipinos in France.

  • Discovering the culture of the Philippines ( Tagalog Lessons, cooking, help in preparing travel to the Philippines...)

  • Discovering the culture of France.

Because we think that the WEB is a wonderful vector to communicate, which perfectly fits our Association's goals, and allows us to provide real-time information, we arre proud to be the first Association in France to present a site about the Philippines. Our Web is not yet very sophisticated, and not very beautiful, but we wanted to respect a few principles, knowing that many long-distance readers will access it:

  • Completly bilingual pages
  • Fast loading (not much pictures, Standard HTML, no frames)
  • Readable texts

The background picture come from a handcraft cover made by the Badjaos, sea's gipsies living in the south of the Philippines. All text and pictures in our pages are protected by copyright and cannot be used without our permission. Don't hesitate to tell us about any mistake, and to send us any contribution that could enrich our site. We also apologize for the bad quality of the english translations, that we are going to correct soon... If you want to know more about the Webmaster, have a look to his private page.
