Somewhere in the XX Century, in a society completely dominated by bureaucracy, Sam Lowry (Jonathan Pryce) is one of the thousand paperwork who works for the ministry of information, and days after days repeat the same things. Sam doesn't blame his situation because He taste his real life every night in his dreams. All change when a bug enter in this enormous bureaucratic machine. A mistake is done, Buttle an honest man is arrested in spite of the terrorist clim-service clandestine Tuttle (Robert de Niro). Sam reestablish the order and met Jill (Kim Greist) the woman of his dreams and enter in the Department Of Records. Since then, the movie begin and show us how a boy is becoming man . Terry Gilliam bring us to a very opressant world, it could be the one of 1984 from Orwell. Has a futurist, this ancient of the Monthy Python sow us the America has he fill, the America of golden boy, of eternal young and of the invisible Super Man. Gillian like Kafka, Fritz Lang and de Kubrick, and propose us the image of baroque XX century, a world mad, made by a drunk god. Utopia or fable, Brazil is a movie very black but high in color.
