Select an area on the map of France to view a detailed map of that region. By clicking on a blue city name, you can access directly to a map of urban transport for that city. It is possible to navigate from one map to the next by clicking on the arrows along the edges of each map. Regional maps show for each line the number of trains operating on a midweek day. The number of trains is generally reduced on weekends. Inversely there may be more trains on particular days, especially Mondays and Fridays. Frequencies are not given for urban transport since these lines usually offer frequent service all day. Timetables are provided for the main lines, but as with frequencies they are only valid on midweek days and do not take into account numerous special cases. Therefore do not rely on them for planning a trip and check with SNCF or with the excellent timetable service of the Deutsche Bahn. Trains running only a part of the year are generally not shown on maps. There are a few exceptions for lines that are only operating in summer but are not purely tourist lines, such as Trouville–Dives and Auray–Quiberon. Night trains are represented separately on a map of night trains.
