HUNDRED  MOUNTAIN-PASS

CLUB

("Confrérie des Cent Cols")

Rules

Article 1:

To become a member of the Hundred Mountain-Pass Club, it is necessary to have bicycled through at least 100 different mountain-passes.

Article 2:

The only mountain-passes which count are those which are officially called passes and either

- appear on maps (Michelin, IGN(*) and similar maps for other countries);

or

- are marked by a sign either at the summit or on a signpost.

Article 3:

There is no minimum height, but at least 5 passes of the 100 must reach a minimum of 2000 metres.(**)

Article 4:

Mountains themselves do not count.

Article 5:

There is no check on members of the Hundred Mountain-Pass Club. We trust the sporting honesty of cyclists who like cycling and mountains just for their own pleasure.

Article 6:

Each year, between 1 October and 1 February, cyclists must send:

- in the first year, the list of different mountain-passes through which they have cycled during their whole cycling career (at least 100, of which at least 5 reach 2000 metres or more);

- in subsequent years, the list of new mountain-passes through which they have cycled during the year.

Article 7:

These lists will be validated by the committee of the Hundred Mountain-Pass Club.

Article 8:

An initial subscription of 75 French Francs or 12 Euros (at present rates) will entitle a new member to receive in the first year:

- a numbered, personalised "Hundred Mountain-Pass" diploma;

- the Club medal;

- the annual Club magazine;

- the annual newsletter "Hundred Mountain-Pass News" ("Infos Cent Cols").

In subsequent years a subscription of 50 French Francs or 8 Euros (at current rates) will entitle the member to receive the annual Club magazine and the annual newsletter "Hundred Mountain-Pass News" ("Infos Cent Cols") and to have his or her name entered in the Club's roll of honour.

Article 9:

Each year, normally on the 15th of August, there is an international gathering at the summit of a mountain-pass, which may be either new or well-known.

Article 10:

The Club is affiliated to the French Federation of Cycling Tourism (Number 6384). It can therefore provide members with a Federation licence and insurance, and this confers the right to vote at general meetings of the Club.

Article 11:

All members are honour-bound to respect these rules. The sending of the initial list of passes will be treated as a contractual commitment to do so.

Article 12:

Correspondence, lists of mountain-passes and subscripitons should be sent to:
