Massacres

The white people decided, the day when he put his foot on the earth of America, when this earth belonged to it about is people who occupied it.

From the end of the war of Secession, inflation is in increase, the population is in constant growth, the country is ruined. The army, pressed by the population, is forced to react. All the excuses are chosen to destroy systematically the Indian villages. The problem of the Indians, it is that they are a people and that where one finds warriors, one finds also women and children because they travel never separated. This does not excuse naturally at all the gravity of the acts of the government of the United States of America.

On 1864: the colonel Chivington, commanding troops of volunteers of the Colorado, attacks a peaceful camp of the leader Chaudron-Noir. He  tried to avenge the acts of Cheyennes of the South, and, on the own initiative, massacred without discrimination women, old men and children. One would give the figure of 300 died, and scalped. It would seem that the soldiers of the regular army which accompanied the volunteers did not participate in the massacre, because, I quote, " it was despicable of our soldier's ranq " (by Frederick A. Wilson, soldier). It is the worst massacre ever committed against the Indians.

on 1868: The 7th of cavalry of Custer massacres 103 people, women and children on the river Washita. On the other hand, little of scalp are taken, because it is an action commanded by Sheridan, Sherman and the American parliament in reprisals of 1867. Furthermore, 800 horses are shot  according to Sheridan's orders.

on 1870: The massacre of Marias: the colonel Baker, wants to attack Montain Chief's camp, a leader Pikuni who vainly defended his interests in front of general Sully. But Montain Chief moves abruptly his camp and the tribe of Heavy Runner puts itself in its place. Baker told by this change by his scout Joe Kipp, decide to punish all the same the Indians which that they are. Camps is shaved and  the Indians massacred . Baker is declared innocent by the government after complaints were deposited against him.

1890: the Dancers of the spirit, the Black Feeet mainly, meet themselves near Wonded Knee for chater for Wakatanka. The army is afraid that this movement activates one a revolt within the Indians and sends Custer's forment regiment to put down this " rebellion ". The regiment massacres these innocents and puts a rough term in Indian wars.
