MES PASSIONS

GOD / DIEU

My parents raised me in the church with the understanding of my sole purpose in life is to serve God. It was difficult as a child to understand every Sunday going to Sunday school and then staying for the 10:45 service. Fortunately, as I got older I began to see the importance and the need for "divine intervention" in my life. The verse from Mark 8:34 describes me well : "Let him deny himself, and take up his the cross, and follow me". I have chosen to follow Christ and be the man of God He desires me to be. I am nothing without God. I have a full understanding what my mission and calling is in my life. I pray everyone accepts Christ as their personal savior because tomorrow is not promised to anyone... There is my pastor in Orlando, Rev. Ware, who has become my mentor. I want to thank him for taking the time to call and email me, while others are at need of his time. He is a powerful man of God, pastor of Grace Community of Faith.

MY FAMILY / MA FAMIILE

Ma femme, Mon fils

Ma fille : Amber

Encore ! Flo & Cedric !

Ma maman : Beatrice

I have always been tough that after God comes one's family. This I have found to be very true because no matter what happens in life, your family will always be there for you. Of course, we know everyone's situation is different. However, your mom will always be your mom and your father will always be your father. For those of you who are raised by a grandparent or foster parent, you still have someone in your life as a model. Since God has blessed me with my own family, I understand the pressures and concerns that parents have. My goal in life as a parent is to do better for my kids than my parents did for me. I must say I have an enormous amount of responsibility to live up to because my parents did an excellent job with my sisters and me. There is nothing my parents did not do to help me be a positive person in life. As I have gotten older, the importance of my happiness has taken a back seat to my wife and son. I now understand the real concept of being a man. It is not about how strong you are, smart you are or how much money you have but it's about providing a stable living environment for my wife and children. My wife has become an inspirational part of me as a person. She allows me to be who I am, while at the same time making up for those things that I lack in my life. There is an old cliché "behind every good man, there is an awesome woman". When I look at my son, I see a little boy who is blessed to have parents who are from different environments and different cultures which allows him to have both of both worlds. He has the opportunity to grow up in a household where color means nothing but it is what is on the inside that makes a person !

MES ETUDES / COLLEGE

My career in basketball only started in1987. I was blessed to get a scholarship to Eckerd College in St Petersburg, Florida. Eckerd is noted more for its Academic Accomplishments, being rated 25th in the nation for its excellence. The assistant coach at the time, Dale LAYER, recruited me because of my potential and he knew I was a good student with a 3.6 grade point. However, the head coach, Jim HARLEY, asked : "What are we going to do with a guy who did not start in High school ?". I took this as a challenge, went in to the camp wanting to prove to myself that I can compete on this level. Needless to say, I started my first game and the rest is history. I left Eckerd the All Time Leading Scorer : 2.072 points and All Time Leading Rebounder with 889. My senior year I was the second leading scorer in Division II with 26.5 points, only behind A. J ENGLISH. On February, I will be inducted into the Sunshine State Conference Hall-of-Fame. Once again I can take no credit for my success. In Psalms 54:4 gives you my reasoning : "Surely God is my help ; the Lord is the one who sustains me" !

FRIENDS / MES AMIS

Gary Alexander

In life, we meet people that have a major impact on our lives. This young man is a brother I never had. We went to university 40 minutes away from each other. He played at the University of South Florida (Division I) and I played at Eckerd College (Division II). We did not know each other, but I followed him because I played at a small school ! Gary is a guy, many people shy away from because of his physical stature. Fortunately, I am blessed to know the true man that he is. He has attained a college degree in four years as well as played two years in the NBA. It is not common for someone who has played in the best league in the world, while being able to maintain a level head of who he is without tooting his own horn. It is unfortunate in the world, people group other people according to your profession instead of the person or individual God intended us to be. Don't let his physic scare you, there is as much intelligence on the inside as well as the outer strength. Gary thanks for the impact you have placed on my life. I don't mind saying "I LOVE YOU !!". My command is this : " Love each other as I have loved you".
