The presentation pdf presents some information onthe proposed architecture.
There are many choice I made, which are or will be reviewed considering the progress of the other D-ATV groups developments.
It consists in triing to send known bytes from a home made sender to a commercial demodulator, to forecast a digital video transmission.
 
 

2. Radio part  :

 
• QPSK trial on bench (in french only for the moment) : qpsk.html (430k with images)        (load file by file)

 
3. Test generator : gene_test.html     (French version here)                     (load file by file)


The test gen builds only frames with proper synch words and fixed data as payload.
- PRBS and RS coding are done
- puncturing fixed to 1/2
- no interleaving today.

4. Dutch group

plenty of goodies, among others :

They are finishing to include some goodies, but their system is working.
They work on a ham version with reasonnable price.
 
 
5. German group :

• video compressor PAL with  2 sound channels to provide the MPEG.-TS transport stream.

 
•  The circuit that prepares I and Q from the multiplex (sound + video MPEG)  =>  sortie IQ

 
• The circuit that up mix the base band IQ to the desired output (23 or 13 cm optional)= IQ Sender (cf datasheet des PLL LM2330 + 1 ou 2 VCO Maxim selon les bandes + preampli pour isoler la sortie)

It was pleased to note that my initial choices were the same as theirs :

• reuse of standard commercial receiver
• programmation of FPGA in VHDL (to maintain portability)b
