Three school pupils, Yuuhi, Mizuki and Shirou, are somehow transported to another dimension after a strange incident. The three land in the world of Grandia, where Liete informs them that they will have to find a 'key' to go back to their dimension. The lost children will seek the help of Sue, Feena and Justin, and go on a journey to find a way home.
In addition to Grandia's characters and the three new characters Yuuhi, Shirou and Mizuki, the game features a new pet mascot known as Pinky.
The battle system retains the series' IP gauge, determining the order/timing of attacks. Spells and skills are represented by cards, as in a card battle game. The world field supposedly has many hidden items in it. Also, the game features Link cable use (?).
