In this particular namespace, NBMC stands for:
NAVIGATOR
BOOKMARK
CUSTOMIZER.
Current version is 3.5, released April 1st, 1999.
In a nutshell, NBMC will read the HTML file that Netscape keeps your bookmarks in, and create another, prettier one that you can use as your browser Home Page. There's a few bells and whistles thrown in, but that's basically it.
The result is actually harder to explain than to understand, so if it's unclear just take the quick guided tour showing visual examples of what NBMC can do for you...
NBMC works under all versions of Windows (3.11, 9x...) and Windows NT, with all versions of the Netscape browser from 2.0 upwards. It can be made to work with Internet Explorer if necessary, and there is now also an equivalent for Netscape users under Linux.
