Hi. This site is dedicated to the Giger Alien Costume I made between August 2003 and March 2004. Maybe you already visited my other website (http://membres.lycos.fr/batgremlin), which was about the Hellraiser Pinhead costume I made for the Vampire's Ball, two years ago.

This Alien costume was also made for winning the Vampire's Ball contest... yet I couldn't say that's totally true. The Vampire's Ball is actually the annual closing party of the Brussels International Fantasy Film Festival... and I couldn't really say it's an important event (rather like a village meat fair). The winning price has always been something like a "happy new year 2000" T-shirt (and yes, I am talking about the post-2000 Balls). So I guess I did those costumes instead of seeing a shrink.

It was my main work last year, and took much more time than my graphic communication studies. Maybe you'll be disappointed to see that the costume isn't "complete". I'm not going to apologize, but here are the reasons. Since the beginning, I knew I couldn't use professionnal techniques (a complete latex foam suit), and I knew all the moving parts were going to be a problem, as I wanted to use wood mache and hard materials. So I decided not to do the arms and legs, and to go to the Ball with a tuxedo hiding those lacks... but I'm happy to know that, not like my latex Pinhead mask (rotten for one year), this costume is not going to decay; it's more a wearable sculpture than a costume.

Today, the Alien is standing in my room without arms and legs and I am thinking about adding them some day, but you won't see them on this site pictures yet.

Good visit, and forgive my Belgian english writing style.

Le site est entièrement en anglais, pour des raisons de fréquentation... mais je pense qu'il n'est pas trop dur à comprendre. Dans le cas contraire, vous m'en voyez consterné.
