- Hi, beautiful speakers lovers,
here you are on the right place.
On this site, you are going to take
part in the building of an original
JBL Hartsfield loudspeaker, as a
prototype was done.
-
For those who only want to collect
information, links are there.
-
- Thanks to genuine master plans
and those from a japanese
magazine, you will be able to build
a pair, with your own choice in
several finished veneers to
customize it.
-
- Before sweating in sawdust, we are
looking for Miss H loudspeakers :
- - If you are lucky, well-to-do, and
stubborn (3 conditions necessary!),
you can use genuine vintages
speakers,
- - Others would like to suit with
replacements models.
-
- Before launching with body and
soul, we can look for tools needed.
A dozen hammers, a screw, and
anything else?
-
- Now we start sawing, screwing and
gluing.
-
- If you have two left hands and/or
ten thumbs, you can overlook and
go to next link.
-
- The great flea measurements and
listening.
-
- This site is under construction.
MissH is not finished.

Brief historical reminder
- Miss H, in its current shape was
born in 1959.
-
- Create to compete with
“KLIPSHORN” , the commercial state of
the art of this time , the internal
construction of the first JBL
HARTSFIELD was similar with
the current one, but with the
bass speaker at the top of the
rear side, look down on the
bottom.
1959 plans modifies the horn
shape for simplification and
industrial rationalization.
-
- From its birth it was a
commercial success , and
participated to the JBL public
image, as the Paragon or the
Everest.
-
- This loudspeaker was sold as a
single one, and its price was not
so crippling (about 800 $ )
because at this time Stereo was
just a dream of disheveled
scientists
- This "Stereo" has signed the
death sentence of "Miss H".
Because its "corner wall" layout,
the listening room should comply
with its requirement, rather than
the opposite.
-
- Today, MissH does not appear in
JBL catalog, but craftsmen as
ClassicAudioReproduction in
USA, or UTOPIA in Japan can sell
you a pair for a few bucks ! (
about 25 000 $ ) The other way is
the Ebay auctions
-
- Continuation of press release
with exceptional documents.
