The HP financial calculators (*) always present the keys as follows (here from a HP22, but so far I've never seen a HP calc presenting the keys in a different order))

Note the BEGIN/END switch, that will be explained further on.
is used to store the number of periods in TVM calculations. Note that pressing
the shift key + n multiplies the amount of periods by 12. Useful to convert
yearly periods in monthly periods.
is used to store the interest rate (in % !, i.e. 8,5% is stored as 8.5 and
not 0.085 !). Note that pressinf the shift key + i divides the interest rate by
12. Is this correct ?
is used to calculate the payment. Note that in earlier versions, only compound
interests and annuities were calculated, but in future versions more financial
calculations were added which obliged to use the sign + for cash in and - for
cash out. That's why on the HP12C for instance, the payments are noted as - $$$
is used to calculate the present value
is used to calculate the future value. In most of loan calculations, this value
is set to 0.
Is
used to set the annuity payment calculation at the begin or at the end of the
period.
