IP2XML

The IP2XML package is composed of 2 exe files :

Ip2xmlSvc.exe is a Windows service (click on control panel, services). It periodically creates a WML or HTML file which contains the IP address of your computer. Ip2xmlSvc can then send this file to a WAB or WEB server. This file is sent using the FTP protocol.
Ip2xml.exe provides you with an interface to select the configuration parameters: WAP or WEB server address, login, password ...

How to install IP2XML :

Server field : enter the IP address of the computer which will host the WML or HTML file generated by IP2XML. Your internet provider must allow you to upload files on your account using FTP protocol. I personnaly opened an free account on WapDrive (www.wapdrive.com).
User name and Password fields : enter your login and password information
Server directory and Server XML File fields : you need to define here the directory name (on your provider computer) containing the file generated by IP2XML. I personnally leave the directory field blank and I use IP.wml or IP.html as a file name.
Timer interval field : defines the refresh period which is used by IP2XML to produce your IP address.
Template file field : selects the template file to use for file generation (The generation templates use the XSL technology. You can also design your own generation models)
- WAP_US : to generate a WML file and consult your IP using a mobile phone
- WEB_US : to generate a HTML file and consult your IP using a WEB browser
- WEB_LINK_US : to generate a HTML file : your address is displayed as a hyperlink. Clicking on this link redirects you on your machine. Thanks to this option, you can host a WEB site at home, even if you IP address is dynamic.
- WAP_FR : french version of WAP_US
- WEB_FR : french version of WEB_US
- WEB_LINK_FR : french version of WEB_LINK_US
click on Next, select Yes to activate IP2XML and then click on Close : IP2XML is now operational !
