Joshua Redman Links

Banner Exchange, This Term's selection, Joshua Redman links, Jazz (in general), Purchases, Artists, This Term's Misc Link, Misc Links,

Many popular search engines do not list any sites concerning Joshua Redman so it has been rather difficult completing this links page. However, this site does not exclusively interest itself in one artist so other Jazz (in general) links have been inluded together with some other interesting web pages. I hope you will be able to find more information about Redman by browsing.

Please e-mail me to report any broken links or suggest any. No rating system has been established, the content of these sites is suitable for all.

HotLinks are links that have been awarded a particular distinction by the author of this site in the domains of information, graphics and accessibilty. They are indicated by this symbol:

Of course this deserves the:

Interviews

http://www.daily.umn.edu/ae/Print/ISSUE17/fewbinterview.html

Very interesting interview of Joshua Redman in which the interviewer asks the artist about his fundemental views and understanding of Jazz in general, questions him on his career, his projects and his style in general. You can also check out the short description of Redman by clicking on the link to 'Redman' above the interview.

This deserves a star!

http://offbeat.com/text/redman.html

The 'BackTalk with Joshua Redman' is a short interview of Joshua Redman around the subject of his position inside Jazz circles, his future as an artist and Jazz in general. The interviewer takes interest in Joshua's view of New Orleans, his stlyle of playing and usage of popular tunes. This interview isn't as good as the one above but it is worth a look if you want to understand Redman's orginality through his own words.

Pages I feel obliged to include but are pretty much the same thing!

http://www.imnworld.com/redman.html

If you haven't learnt anything from the short biography I provided take a peek at this small page, a brief biography of Joshua Redman provided by the IMN (International Music Network). If you scroll down to the bottom there is an intersting list of recordings including Redman when he was only a side-kick.

http://www.multimania.com/virtualjazz

Core Official Selection

This web site has it all: style, design and most of all information. Artists range from 'old school' swingers to contempory jazzmen and the service provides reviews of the lastest albums released. Furthermore the site includes its own web design tool, a mailing list and a long list of well deserved rewards (Yahoo, Multimania...). This is a highly recommendable visit.

Purchases

http://www.cdnow.com

As usual cdnow excells in its domain: selling ridiculous quantities of CDs to a mass of filthy rich Americans. However it does boast a clever selection of audio extracts from various Redman albums, but if you are looking for information the most you will gate is a large nasty price tag staring at you in the face!

http://www.amazon.com

Well, who can avoid Amazon? Answer: people with common sense. Amazon has decided to rival cdnow by creating a music store but the outcome is rather pathetic. Redman does get a mention however and the speed of delivery of the service is exceptional.

Again the worthy ISP has selected another very interesting web site that I have felt obliged to include respectively. The subject this time? Sects. If you know little about Scientology or are attracted by its utopian ideas visit this site and you will discover the hideous reality of it. This site covers every aspect of the ubiquitous organization: from mass suicides to dishonest hyponis and destruction of the human spirit. It provides a vast amount of information, archives and up to date articles all in the defense fundemental values such as liberty and truth.
