Before playing the New Kingdom egyptians for Warhammer Ancient, I was a fanatic bretonian player for the fantasy version of the same game. I must say I was very proud of my Grail Knights...until I paint the egyptian chariots. Chariots are really very beautiful minis and these ones are really the best pieces of my entire collection !

New Kingdom XIXth Dynasty chariot
This chariot was the very first one I painted. As the only examples of painted chariotry came from Chariot Wars, the Osprey books and some good website (thanks Vince !), I had only little ideas on how to paint some parts (the bronzed wheels for instance). This chariot was then a 'painting-test' on several points.

New Kingdom XVIIIth Dynasty chariot
Although most of my egyptian
minis are XIXth Dynasty ones, I really like the look of the heavily
armoured XVIIIth Dynasty chariotry. I wanted to paint one as they are
somewhat different from the XIXth Dynasty ones. It was still a kind
of 'painting test'.
As my main chariotry will be from
the XIXth Dynasty range, I'll use my XVIIIth Dynasty chariotry along
with some canaanite chariotry (the ones with thrusting spears) to
represent the allied Ne'arin Chariotry.

another XVIIIth Dynasty chariot
One of my favourite chariot ! I really like the zebra pattern for the chariot's cab and the general light-yellow colour scheme. I paint this one after watching carefully at the Kushite chieftain's chariot picture in Chariot Wars.

XIXth Dynasty chariot
I read somewhere in a Osprey book that egyptian chariotry leaders owned the banner of their unit. This chariot will then represent both my leader and standart for my first chariotry unit. Here again, I painted this one after the picture of the same miniature in Chariot Wars.
