EPNADS'2005 :

EMERGENT PROPERTIES In NATURAL And ARTIFICIAL
DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS

A satellite Workshop of

European Conference on Complex Systems Paris, 14-18 November 2005 (ECCS'05)

Dear Colleagues,
The 1th world's largest gathering of researchers in COMPLEX SYSTEMS will be held in Paris, France, on 14-18 November 2005 (see the address above). You are cordially invited to submit a paper to this conference or to the :

Satellite workshop : EPNADS'05

EMERGENT PROPERTIES In NATURAL And ARTIFICIAL
DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS.

which we are going to organize within this conference.

Description :
The aim in this session is to study emergent properties arising through dynamical processes in various types of natural and artificial systems. The session is concerned with multidisciplinary approaches for getting representations of complex systems and using different methods to extract emergent structures. Equations formulation can lead to the study of emergent features such as self organization, opening on stability and robustness properties. Invariant techniques can express global emergent properties in dynamical and in temporal evolution systems. Artificial systems such as a distributed platform for simulation can be used to search emergent placement during simulation execution. Special attention is paid to bio-complexity (but not limited to this topic) where global emergent properties can be detected.

The expected submissions can take place within one or several of the following sub-topics (non-restrictive list) :

This special session will consist of several lectures, 20 minutes each.

Paper Submission:

Prospective authors are invited to submit abstract or complete manuscript in PDF or Postcript format to one of the workshop organizers. Only electronical submissions, via email, are authorized. The text must be in double-spaced format using 12-point size type. Abstract (less than 2 pages) may be send in the first step of submission. In final step, complete manuscript have to be send and must not exceed 16 pages including figures and tables. In the submission mail, the author should furnish the following information : Title of manuscript, author(s) name(s) and affiliation(s), clearly specifying the contacting author, all authors' postal and email addresses, phone numbers and 5 to 7 keywords. Paper will be evaluated by two referees.
