Angelina Jolie, daughter of Actor Jon Voight, first came to stardom when she landed a part in the feature film "Hackers", though people would recognize her better for her recent role in "Tomb Raider" as the lovely Lara Croft. Her acting career, in relatively short time, has increased dramatically, staring in such critically acclaimed movies as "Girl, Interupted", "Foxfire" and HBO's "Gia", "Girl, Interupted" winning her an Oscar for best supporting actress in 2000. One of her recent acclaims was becoming a Goodwill Ambasador for the UN in early 2002.

Jolie, born Angelina Jolie Voight, grew up in Los Angeles, though she traveled the world with her father Jon Voight. Settling in New York, she entered her acting career by training and performing at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute after leaving school early. In addition, Angelina worked as a professional model from the age of 14 in London, New York and Los Angeles. Her modeling found her parts in the music videos of Meatloaf, Lenny Kravitz, Antonello Venditti, The Rolling Stones and The Lemonheads.

In 1995, Angelina married her Hackers co-star Jonny Lee Miller. At the wedding, she dressed in black leather pants and a white shirt with her husbands name painted across the back in her own blood. They divorced in 1999, only later Angelina married Billy Bob Thornton in 2000. After adopting a child between the two, they divorced in 2002.
