2) Initial settings
The game is played on a 10x10 board, with a dark square at the bottom
left and top right corners. |
3) Piece moves
Pieces move diagonally one
square forward (we only play on dark squares). |
4) King moves
You can move a king of as many squares as you wish, on one diagonal,
backward and forward. |
5) The capture by a pieceTo take an opponent's piece, you need to:
| Here, the left white piece can take the adjacent black piece. On the contrary, the right white piece can not take anything since there is no free square right behind the black piece. |
You can also take backward. Taking is compulsory. |
| If, once you have taken one piece, you are again in position of taking
a piece, you must keep on until it is not possible any more. Pieces must be removed at the end of the capture, not during it. Here is a big capture. White must take six pieces. |
6) The capture by a king
Since, the king can move a long way on a diagonal, it also has bigger
opportunities as far as taking is concerned. |
7) The most taking rule
This is an essential rule, though it is not known by most people. |
