The
seven musicians (Pierre SAUSSINE tp.cl.ts.arr., Roger POTIGNY cl.as.,
Jean VELARDO tp., Roland CEZ tb., Olivier BUISSON bj.v., Jean-Michel FRANCOIS
Tu, Jean-Pierre SAUGER dr.wb.) play lively and cheerful jazz with great
humour.
They play jazz from the originals - as it was handen down by King Oliver,
Sidney Bechet, Louis
Armstrong and Kid Ory - and also the Dixieland music, white child of the
black father, born in Chicago from the music of Bix Beiderbecke, Jack
Teagarden and the Original Dixieland Jazz Band.
Add in the OLD CATS' favourites - Duke Ellington, of course, and the
Mc Kinneys Cotton Pickers
- to complete the mix. Les OLD CATS France use to perform in jazz bars
in Paris (Le Petit Journal St Michel), for local events (Reims, Amiens,
Paris, Agde) and in jazz festivals in France and abroad (St Raphaël,
Megève, Ste-Adresse-Le Havre, Cannes...).
