The main idea of this database is to develop a huge network of mutual aid from other people. My idea came up when I was browsering through technical forums. They are very popular, and a lot of users are here to help others to solve their hardware problems.

But in many cases, some infos are missing to give a complete answer, and here come the Database idea.
Each user can register, and doing so, they get their complete profile stored in the database, once for good. They can write their problems down, and any user who knows how to solve this problem can do so, without missing any informations. I think it's more user-friendly than a regular forum, more effecient, and faster.

In fact, you just have to fill up the form, and wait for someone to answer you, like in a forum. Where the idea begins to to be interesting, it's if my site becomes sucessfull, and many profiles will get stored in the database. There will be great chances to find the same profile as yours, and to find already an answered case. Searching for your hardware trouble will never be as easy as this!!!!

Of course, for the moment, this is a really beta version, and I'm waiting for you guys to submit any ideas that you think can improve this web site, all ideas are very welcome! I'll make regular survey to know what is the most important for you.

Also, to get the web site started, I'll try to answer and help you as much as I can.

I'm currently working on few points that may be useful:

At the beginning, I wanted to make a web site only to see how CSS, PHP and MySQL were working. And as I was working on it, I discovered the power of these tools. I thought it was to bad to do something useless. And my idea came up one thursday night, when searching for a good news posting script, I've landed on a script to make annouces, on the EXCELLENT web site of Arnaud Guyonne, PHPlive. And the concept of database lit up at 2'o clock in the morning...

Happy surfing and enjoy,
Patrick
