Make a Seymor "big" Cheese / Kon no kami KiSS set


If you encounter any problem while following the tutorial please mail me to tell me what went wrong. That will help this tutorial to become clearer and easier to follow !



  • Create a new "seymor" directory (a folder) somewhere on your disk to work in
  • Start your favorite graphic program
  • Open a new picture (usualy : File, new).
  • Make it a large one : 600x600 in order to have plenty of space to work.
  • Choose a color depth of 16 colors. If your program doesn't allow you to do that then use another program.
  • Draw "big cheese" like on the picture below. (I didn't say it was easy)
    Or... right click here and select "save link as" to download the zipped .bmp (unzip the .bmp with pkunzip or winzip in your newly created directory)




  • Draw Seymor's left arm and hand and thumb. (you'll understand later)




  • Draw boxes around the various parts. If you want, you can use another background color; but beware! dont use a color you used on seymor : the background color is also the "transparent color" for the KiSS viewer.
    There must be a color number in the palette used only by the background.

    "What if I want something to be the same color as the background"
    "I want the background white but Seymor's collar is already that color"

    You just have to make two "entry" in the palette the same color :

    (some program detect if 2 entry are of the same color and use only one of the 2 entry, even if you select the other. To prevent that just put a small difference between the 2 entry. ex : 1st Red=255 GREEN=255 BLUE=255. 2nd RED=254 GREEN=254 BLUE=254)



  • Save the picture in BMP format in the "seymor" directory
  • Start WSVC (downloadable on the Big KiSS page)
  • Load the picture in WSVC (file, open)

    You should get that :




  • Double click on Seymor's body; a window should appear. Change the filename to SEYMBODY (cel file names are 8 characters only) and click "Make this cel"




  • Do the same to the other cels (names = leftarm, lefthand, thumb)

    You should have that on your screen :




  • Go to edit, color pallete name.
  • Change the name to body and click "Make palette"




  • Create a file named seymour.cnf in the "seymor" directory : for example, right click in the "seymor" directory and choose new, new text document. Click two time on the newly created file twice (!not a double click) to rename it to .cnf





  • Start wordpad (for example) and load seymour.cnf (file, open. Choose "all file" in the open dialog to see the .cnf file appear in the list)
  • type that in the file :

  • Start WKISS (downloadable at the Big KiSS page)
  • Open seymour.cnf (file, open)

    You should get that :




  • Drag Seymor and the other parts to the center in a more organized form.
    (notice how the cels that were on top of the list in the .cnf are diplayed on top of the other?)
  • Save the KiSS (file, save). WKISS automaticaly write the parts location in the seymour.cnf file.
