The Monte Carlo Television Festival becomes the new owner of Imagina. So, French governement let go down the most important event dedicated to the digital creation in Europe, which participated to the existence of European market. It's very hard to understand the real motives for this disengagement, while the whole French government, and in particular his Prime Minister, claims its actions for new technologies with a lot of subsidies.
The late disengagement of INA to the organization of Imagina bring on cancellation of the 2001 edition of Imagina, in spite of last July announcement. This intentional bungling, made by the last President of INA, Francis Beck (who have now the responsability of the workgroup dedicated to the new technologies of information and communication in the Conseil Supérieur de l'Audiovisuel - in charge of French broadcast regulation), leaves orphan all actors of the European digital creation.
The international mobilization for, what will stay, one of the most important professionals' petitions in the French broadcast area don't bring back French politics. The petition stays in activity to watch suites of this file because, unless ten months of the next hypothetical edition, no date, no program are still announced. |
