WHEEL DRIVE TOUR IN LAOSLA1
Day 1:
Departure from your country.
Day 2: Arrival in BANGKOK. Then proceed to the Domestic airport by the specially provided gangway and check in for flight bound for CHIANGRAI . Our representative will welcome you at CHIANGRAI airport and provide transport to your hotel. Introduction and tour of the city. Dinner will be provided at a restaurant in town, then back to you hotel Ban Khun Yom where you will spend your first night.
Day 3:
After an early breakfast you will be allocated our own vehicle with all the
necessary informations. There will also be a brief introduction to driving in
thailand. The vehicles will start their journey to CHIANGKHONG by road. On
arrival all relevent documents will be checked by custom and immigration
officials, before boarding the ferry for BAN HUAY XAI on the other side of the
MEKHONG river.
The Laotian authorities will check the vehicles and documents you will be
then be transferred to your hotel. A light lunch then on to the dirt tracks in
the direction of a small LAEN TAENG tribal village where customs and the way of
life have retained their
authentic character. On the way back there will be ample opportunities to visit
tribal villages and watch people go about their daily chores, there will also be
a visit to a local still and an introduction to the traditional process of
making alcohol. Return to HUAY XAI for the evening market and a look at
"Fort Carnot" testimony of the french presence in LAOS for almost a
century. Dinner in town. (Total: 170 km).
Day 4: Morning start on dirt tracks through a number of LAO and HMONG villages, pristine jungle and beautiful wild natural scenery. Lunch at WIANG PHUKHA then back on the tracks to reach LUANG NAMTHA. Check in the hotel and dinner in town. (Total: 200 km).
Day
5: Setting off in the morning on a mountain dirt track
to encounter several tribes representing a number of ethnic minorities, HMONG,
LAEN TAENG and LAO YAI. Stop at NAI TOEY and picturesque market, there on to the
chinese border. Brief crossing to CHINA at BOTEN where you will stop for lunch
and experience a completely different atmosphere and environment. Back to LAOS
on a rough road. Dinner and overnight stop in a HMONG village. (Total: 150
km).
Day 6: Morning spent strolling around the village, watching the HMONG tribal costumes and observing the daily activities of the villagers. Other tribal groups will be seen along the tracks meandering through stunning mountain landscapes. "Lunch en route". Arrival at UDOMXAY scheduled for late afternoon. Dinner in town and overnight accomodation booked at the hotel Singthong. (Total: 60 km).
Day 7:
The journey from UDOMXAY to LUANG PRABANG will be done by road. The scenery will
vary from mountainous landscapes to dense pristine jungle sporadically
interrupted by traditional villages. Witnessing unspoilt rural life. Dinner at
LUANG PRABANG and overnight accomodation
at the hotel Manolak. (Total: 200 km). 
Day 8: Tour of LUANG PRABANG and its magnificent temples WAT MAI and WAT XIANG THONG, enjoy a panoramic view of the town and the MEKHONG from the top of mount PHOUSI, visit the royal palace and stroll through the town discovering the french influence still very much in evidence from it's colonial presence until 1975. Lunch in town. In the afternoon drive up to the spectacular KWANG SI waterfalls. All along the dirt track you will enjoy the sights of beautiful villages and the succession of emerald rice paddies. Back to town for dinner and second night at the hotel Manolak. (Total: 100 km).
Day 9:
Today you will complete the 400km link to VIENTIANE by road. On the way frequent
sights of HMONG villages of a different character to those so far encountered
and some LAO hill top villages. Along this circuit you will also enjoy
breathtaking panoramic views on the river NAM OU. A stop at the spectacular
VAN VIENG site then back on the road to reach VIENTIANE late evening. Dinner in
town. Overnight accomodation at the Asian Pavilion Hotel. (Total: 417 km).
Day 10: Visit of the town and it's main attractions such as the beautiful temple of Wat That Luang, the striking Arc de Triomphe, the museum dedicated to the revolution etc... A walk through the morning market and the myriad of intriguing stalls in its immediate vicinity. Lunch in town. Overnight accomodation at the "Asian Pavilion Hotel".
Day 11: On the way back to the Thai border a stop at XIANG KHOUAN to visit The Garden of reclining Buddhah then heading for the "friendship bridge". Vehicles and documents check by the police and custom officers followed by the same procedure on the Thai side in NONG KHAI. The last leg of the circuit is the road link to the airport of UDON THANI, catching the domestic flight for CHIANGMAI or BANGKOK
Day 12: Arrival in your country.
