 MOTORBIKE TOUR IN LAOS

LM1

Day 1:     Departure from your country.Motos sur piste

Day 2:     Arrival in BANGKOK. Then proceed to the Domestic airport by the specially provided gangway and check in for flight bound for CHIANGRAI .Our representative will welcome you at CHIANGRAI airport and provide transport to your hotel. Introduction and tour of the city. Dinner will be provided at a restaurant in town, then back to you hotel Ban Khun Yom where you will spend your first night.

Day 3:     After an early breakfast you will be allocated our own vehicle with all the necessary informations. There will also be a brief introduction to driving in thailand. The vehicles will start their journey to CHIANGKHONG by road. On arrival all relevent documents will be checked by custom and immigration officials, before boarding the ferry for BAN HUAY XAI on the other side of the MEKHONG river. The Laotian authorities  will check the vehicles and documents you will be then be transferred to your hotel. A light lunch then on to the dirt tracks in the direction of a small LAEN TAENG tribal village where customs and the way of life have retained their authentic character. On the way back there will be ample opportunities to visit tribal villages and watch people go about their daily chores, there will also be a visit to a local still and an introduction to the traditional process of making alcohol. Return to HUAY XAI  for the evening market and a look at "Fort Carnot" testimony of the French presence in LAOS for almost a century. Dinner in town. (Total: 170 km).Houay Xay

Day 4:     Morning start on dirt tracks through a number of LAO and HMONG villages, pristine jungle and beautiful wild natural scenery. Lunch at WIANG PHUKHA then back on the tracks to reach LUANG NAMTHA. Check in the hotel and dinner in town. (Total: 200 km).

Day 5:     Setting off in the morning on a mountain dirt track to encounter several tribes representing a number of ethnic minorities. HMONG, LAEN TAENG and LAO YAI. Stop at NAI TOEY and picturesque market, there on to the chinese border. Brief crossing to CHINA at BOTEN where you will stop for lunch and experience a completely different atmosphere and environment. Back to LAOS on a rough road. Stop in a HMONG village.  Delightful sceenery, beautiful villages all along the way to UDOMXAY,our evening destination. Dinner and night in UDOMXAY. (Total: 160 km).

Day 6:    Exploration of the city and it's curiosities, then off to the countryside enjoying the charms of traditional villages , markets and local crafts -lunch en route- The fFemmes Yaoinal leg of the journey to the banks of the MEKHONG goes through breathtaking mountain and forest sceenery. Dinner and night at PAKBENG RESORT. ( Total : 150 km ).

Day 7:     We cross the river in a specially chartered barge giving us access to the province of SAYABOURI still untouched by tourism.We enter a world of rough tracks and deep ruts through the dense canopy of virgin forest, numerous fords, encountering villaghes and a way of life unchanged for centuries. Pic-nic en route. Deep jungles punctuated occasionally by emerald green patches of rice field terrasses all the way to XAIGNABOURI. Here we take the last ferry accross the MEKHONG and head on for LUANG PRABANG along a track with picturesque LAO villages. Dinner and night at hotel Ban Lao. ( Total : 200 km ).

Day 8:     We spend the morning discovering LUANG PRABANG. Moto descendant du bacThis beautiful city boasts a rich colonial past and many architectural and historical treasures.It has recently earned the status of " World Heritage City ".We become acquainted with many of Luang Prabang's more interesting sights such as the Royal Palace, the National Museum and the famous temples of WAT XIANG THONG and WAT MAI. We sit down to a lunch of Laotian food. In the afternoon drive up to the spectacular KWANG SI waterfalls. All along the dirt track you will enjoy the sights of beautiful villages and the succession of  rice paddies. Back to town for dinner and overnight at the hotel Ban Lao. (Total: 100 km).

Day 9:     Today's journey takes us through a number of Lao Lum and Thai Dam villages until Tha Dua where we board the regular ferry to cross the MEKHONG. We penetrate deeply into the forest and ermerge on a steep hillside track in the mountain where elephants still work in the timber trade. We encounter  isolated Lao Sung villages before finally arriving in HONGSA where we embark with our motorcycles on speed boats upstream to PAKBENG. Dinner and overnight in Pakbeng Resort. (Total: 220 km).

Day 10:    After breakfast, boarding the motorbikes and jeeps on the ferry, for a rivercruise back to BAN HUAY XAY with a lunch stop in a fishing village. Vehicles and documents check by the police and custom officers followed by the same procedure on the Thai side in CHIANGKHONG. The last leg of the circuit is the road link to CHIANGRAI. Dinner and night in Ban Khun Yom hotel. ( Total : 130 km ).

Day 11:     We stroll leisurely in CHIANG RAI's central market and we have the rest of the day free . This is a last opportunity to do some shopping or just have a rest. In the evening , transfer to the airport for the flight CEI-BKK and the final home bound journey.
