Tennis Borussia is already qualified for the next round of the Berlin Cup Tournament after today's withdrawal of TSV Helgoland.

More good news: Birgit Baier seems to have recovered and will join the team's training tonight.

Only 30 people came to watch a rather disappointing match during the first 45 minutes. Only after the break - who knows, what Ms. Wahnschaffe told the girls in the dressing room - the violets started to flourish.

The 2nd round of the Berlin Cup Tournament will take place on October 2nd. Tennis Borussia is going to compete with TSV Helgoland 1897.
Kick-off is scheduled for 2:00 PM at the field Am Kühler Weg.

60 spectators followed this match against a very weak Erzgebirge Aue, who made it quite easy for our girls to win. To be fair it must be said, that the saxon 'violets' had to overcome some recent injuries and the loss of czech national player Tlachova, transfered to Nürnberg some days before. Anyway Tennis Borussia could have scored even higher, if the women had shown more determination.

Informations from 09/15/99:

The injury of Birgit Baier seems to be an ACL extension. Whether it is combined with a damage of the meniscus could not be diagnosed yet.

Sybille Brüdgam was reelected for team's captain.

In front of about 50 spectators our girls won the match as expected. Doreen Kruscha kept her goal clean by catching a penalty kick. After an injury (probably ACL tear) of Birgit Baier at the 69th minute Tennis Borussia had to continue with 10 players.

A new record result has to be recognized. The women of Tennis Borussia won yesterday's test-match against Eichkamp-Rupenhorn by 19 - 0

What a tremendous match! VfB Lichterfelde might not belong to the best teams of Berlin, but the performance of our women, who tried their best until the very last minute, was phantastic. The other teams of the 2nd division will have to work hardly to outperform the team of Tennis Borussia in the near future.
